Buying New: What to Expect | Terry Reid Mitsubishi | Cartersville, GA

Finance Page – Buying New: What to Expect

Buying a new vehicle for the first time can be daunting — but with a little knowledge and advice on your side, there’s no reason it has to be stressful. Here are some car-buying tips and useful information on what you can expect when buying new, to make the process more smooth and enjoyable.

  • Take your time for research: When shopping around for your new vehicle, you will want to take your time to research various models, take them for test drives, and review your financing options. It’s important to plan ahead, noting your absolute must-haves in a vehicle and setting a budget for yourself. Taking your time guarantees that you’ll get the best possible deal on the vehicle you want.
  • Prepare before the time of your vehicle purchase: Once you’ve selected the car you want and the dealership you want to buy from, you should make sure you have everything ready. For instance, you will want to do the following:
    • If you are trading in your current vehicle, you should know what your vehicle’s value is. You can easily find this information online and, if you’d like, you can have your vehicle appraised by a used-car retailer.
    • If you are looking into financing options besides those available at the dealership, you will want to have printed quotes and/or loan information on hand when you head to the dealership.
    • Since you will need to insure your vehicle, call your insurance agent before buying and find out how much it will cost to insure your desired vehicle. You will definitely want to do this before buying.
  • Gather the paperwork needed for purchasing: When you arrive at the dealership to buy a new vehicle, you will need to have your driver’s license; proof of car insurance; the title, registration, and loan account number of the vehicle you’re trading in (if applicable); and manufacturer rebate information (If applicable). If financing through the dealership, you may also want to have a month’s worth of pay stubs and proof of your current address.
  • Ask questions and voice any concerns of buying a new vehicle: At Terry Reid Mitsubishi, we’d be happy to answer any questions you may have and address your concerns about buying a new vehicle, so don’t hesitate to contact us!
